In many patients, PH is usually a permanent condition. In these patients PH usually does not improve by itself or disappear and although medical treatment can be very effective, medications do not usually cure PH.3
Medications to treat PH do however allow PH patients to feel better; have less symptoms, such as difficulty breathing, tiredness, oedema, faintness, and chest pain; allow patients to be more active physically, and to exercise; and to live longer.3
PHASA is registered as a non-profit organization and we need funds to help patients pay for their medication and treatment - costs that are often not covered by medical aids.
In addition, supporters like you make it possible for PHASA to provide things such as a website, advocacy and awareness programmes, printed information materials, and our newsletter.
Every donation - even a small amount - will help us in our endeavours to build our PH community; to educate and create awareness of pulmonary hypertension amongst the general public; and to help a PH patient live a better quality of life.
